Well, it's very easy to miss since they never talk or do anything to make themselves known, but a few times in the episode (like during the conveyor belt scene and after Penfold restores DM's balance), you can see a yellow SPT and an orange SPT. Who the heck are these guys and where were they earlier when Penfold was being introduced to everyone, and if Penfold assumed Heroism, Egotism, Perfectionism and Stoicism completely make up DM's personality then what does that say about these mysterious SPTs?
The first step to finding out who these guys are might not be what you think - instead of looking at them, we're gonna need to take a step back and identify the SPTs we've already met. Starting with Heroism is the safest bet since they're the ones we see the most and have the most information on when it comes to what they actually do. I used to think the SPTs were kinda like the guys from Inside Out and had something to do with directly controlling DM's emotions or behaviour, but the professor actually refers to the Heroes as "blood cells" in the episode, plus the imbalance almost kills DM so they must have something to do with homeostasis. This means SPTs are not representations of abstract processes (such as feeling angry), but rather the personification of actual existing bodily entities (such as a cell causing a chemical reaction that induces anger).
So, what are the Heroes? Naturally, you'd assume they were red blood cells due to their red colour and how numerous they are, but that can't be right because as soon as Penfold is injected into DM, he smacks right into some red blood cells (you can tell by their biconcave shape). But they're still definitely a kind of blood cell, so let's think.
