>>110685852>Honestly the comic has been a shit show for years. Only the first two books are good and then it becomes a swift descent into retardation.>My only hope is that the first two books are archived and some based paypig anon releases all the HQ pinups.I'm on the other side of the coin.
I actually liked the whole world-building thing and mental masturbation of caster disciplines.
And even if I wanted a conclusion to Parson story, I liked the fact that he was just a character in a bigger world.
The whole multi pov trying to do a GameOfThrones thing was okeish and I unironically preferred Charlie as a character.
The fact that he as a carnie was capable of fighting two sides with arkentools and even steal them was badass.
With that said, the story took a lot of bad turns.
For example, after book two and abusing the falling mechanics there were no payoffs at all. All the strategies at play were just a continium that never ended and never had a paid off.
Wich would made sense on the fact that both Parson and Charlie were reacting and playing against each other strategies... But it feel weird, like there were no conclusion to conflicts and we spend time reading about moves that were never executed at all, not even failing... For example we as readers are told about the plan to abuse the bats so charlie pay penalties but that move is never actually executed.
On the other hand I didn't like the whole "look Charlie has guns" plot line.
Once the guns were introduced into the story they automatically changed it forever... Except a massive retconn.
Guns were just to usefull and wouldn't had been any real argument to remove them. And a fantasy story with guns just felt lame.
