>>106375923You said an Oscar winning actress had limited acting range. You didn't qualify that statement as tied to her performance in this specific film. You challenged her capacity as a person. Whether you value what an Oscar represents or not, either position when applied to a dismissal of Brie's acting range is contradictory to what the award itself or reception of one signifies within pop culture. In my book, those are arguments.
Now I'd imagine that if you're willing to dismiss her being told to reign in her emotions as a crutch for her "limits a performer," than her being trained to the degree of being given a power governor to limit the degree to which she was able to access her power, while also being written as having been trained in person for up to 6 years in the fundamentals of accessing and making use of her power source probably counts as a crutch as well.
Nevermind the fact she was put in a simulation tied to her physical presence and was put in a baptism by fire situation where she needed to learn how to access and make use of her powers, otherwise she would have been cognitively altered by the Supreme Intelligence again.
For the record, we aren't talking about nuanced use of her powers that'd require much struggle to master. She functioned with the sophistication of a bazooka. She realized she had been held back, removed the governor, and applied her unrestricted power in the direction it needed to go to stop whatever was presenting a threat. I'd be shocked if she doesn't show up with a higher degree of mastery (that she will have had 20+ years to develop and struggle to master) in Endgame.
As for accusations of childishness, you/someone said something wasn't there, then when given examples where it actually was, dismissed them, and attacked the acting range of an actress.
