Well I don't know about "vibe" but I personally enjoyed The Dark Prince Charming. It's not really set in any sort of canon, and its a simple premise; A woman comes forward claiming her daughter is Bruce Wayne's biological child, after a one night stand. Said child is kidnapped by The Joker, which then leads to information that might suggest that the little girl may actually be his daughter. It's left ambiguous and never really confirms who's the father, but its a solid story that also includes Catwoman

And that matters, how? Let me give you a good example; Batman The Dark Prince Charming by Marini is perhaps the best Batman comic to come out in recent memory. Why? Because it has a simple plot that is well written, and a great change of pace. All it is, is Joker kidnapping a little girl. That's it. King writing Batman as equal parts fuckup and broken means nothing to me.

This was without a doubt, one of the better Batman stories to come out in the past 5 years. I think what makes it work is just how "back to basics" it really is. No year long dragged out wedding that never happened, no master plan to destroy Gotham, and certainly no magic evil Batmen from another universe. This was just Batman trying to save a little girl. That's it! I kind of wish this was the main Batman book, because I'm kind of intrigued where a certain character could have been taken.

What are your thoughts?

Remember when Batman was a detective? A real one, not a guy who just plugs shit into the Batcomputer so it can tell him everything. That would be nice. Moreover, we need to go back to simpler times. Remember The Dark Prince Charming? That was fucking great, and it was just The Joker kidnapping a little girl. No world ending shit, no Gotham on the brink of collapse, just The Batman doing street level shit.

The issue isn't the shipping, the wedding, or even abandoning the wedding, it's wasting our fucking time. 50+ issues, over a year of King/DC repeatedly going ITS HAPPENING, all so they can further pad this lame drama out for ANOTHER fucking 50 issues, and that's ignoring the nonsensical Bane reveal.

Pic related was the best Batman story to come out in recent memory because it didn't waste your fucking time, and it had a simple plot told well.
