Actually, this brings up another good point about this movie.
Jafar wanted more than anything* to be Sultan. *except marry Jasmine. He would rather waste decades of his life searching for the Sorcerer equivalent of a Hail Mary in the form of a wish granting genie than marry Jasmine.
He never thought of it before, Iago had to bring it up. And you know what, Anons? I understand that, because Jafar thought Jasmine was revolting, and you know what? He was right!
Consider how horrible of a person you have to be to drive power/money hungry princes away from your kingdom in a rage. Consider what kind of woman keeps a fucking pet tiger around. Consider what sort of horrible little brat she must have been as a child, what an absolute terror she was, and watching that little monster grow up into Princess Fucking Jasmine.
It's no wonder Jafar, a man willing to do anything, wasn't able to even see the possibility of him and Jasmine. His mind hid it from him.
Look at this picture. Jasmine, clearly overcome by Jafar's overwhelming power, is forcefully trying to become his wife.
The only thing he can think is "No."
