But what I do find weird about The Fungies! is that you sorta get the feel that it's trying to be subversive with that nostalgic genre half of the time, but it ultimately ends up just going all-in with being goody-goody edutainment. None of the jokes tread beyond that TV-Y7 territory, so the whole show pales in comparison to the actual feel-good cartoons of times past.
I'm fine with it remaining episodic and comfy, but the comedy isn't that great and I REALLY am not a fan of those character designs. The backgrounds are nice, but Fungietown is not the most appealing setting or aesthetic overall.
