>>93047087>I think Perlmutter is just going to keep letting editors go until there's no one left
It's a pretty common tactic in American business to prop up a shitty quarter by laying off staff; with the problem that it's just kicking the can down the road by treating a symptom ( lower than expected profit ) rather than it's cause.
With the additional issue that he's *already* played this card in the past:https://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/10/20/the-spinning-pennies-of-marvel%E2%80%99s-isaac-perlmutter/
Currently, of course, you've got multiple store owners screaming about the drop off they're seeing across the line:>>93019365

But that's sell-through not wholesale ( the store owners are seeing their sales tank but they've not drastically cut their buy in yet so Marvel's bottom line isn't really feeling the pain yet, and Diamond's lists still show them ahead in Units and moreso in Dollars ).
Due to the lead time on comic production I expect you're going to see some classic "trying to turn the Titanic" shenanigans when this trend really starts to gain some steam.
I do wonder how bad it will need to get before Disney decides to step in; because while Jewmutter is one of the largest single holders of Mouse Stock post Marvel sale; he's still massively outnumbered on the board and all anyone really gives a shit about at the end of the day is the bottom line ( hence he and his cronies getting the boot from the MCU productions ).
I mean, sure, the movies make BILLIONS and the comics are just MILLIONS ... but, at the end of the day, a Jews gonna Jew.
