Religion is a finicky business. I grew up with a lot of questions about God, and nobody wanted to answer them with anything other than "have faith".
For a kid who wanted to be an engineer more than anything, that shit does not fly.
I'm still kinda reconciling my religious upbringing with what I "know" is true, what I can prove empirically to myself. It's hard to keep the fundamental concepts of the scientific method intect when talking about God, since religion places such an emphasis on a blind trust.
I dunno, anon. I really appreciate the values of community and tolerance that it inspires. The kindness and generosity of my church blows me away whenever I come.
There are just so many people that miss the point of the lessons, who use it as a soapbox for their agendas and abandon the concepts of social betterment.
What a can of worms. Thanks for reading my blog.
