That's a tough question. There are so many great stories in the X-Books. Since I can only choose one, I'm going to go with X-Cutioner's Song. I grew up in the nineties, and that was my favorite back then.>Favorite Mutant?
When he isn't painted up like a race traitor and an idiot, I love Beast the most. What's with all of the character assassination lately? I admit, he's mai husbando, because it'd be weird if a gay guy had a waifu.
If not him, then it's New Mutants Volume 1-era Cypher.>Least Favorite Mutant?
Probably post-M-Day Scarlet Witch. Fuck what the writers turned her into, and fuck all of the asspulls it took to make it happen.>Favorite Team (Era or Otherwise)
I'm torn between the Blue and Gold Teams from the nineties, the Australian hideout era, and the New Mutants from series 1 in the eighties.>What would you do to fix our mutants?
Apply the whole "fears and hates us" allegory for racism to all Marvels, instead of just to Mutants. It sets an inconsistent tone that looks like sloppy world building. Either go whole-hog with the "alien origins" stuff and Earth having contact with a larger universe of sentient beings that essentially made them, or drop it entirely. I like it and find it interesting, but I get whiplash (down, Tony) when they go back and forth on how important that stuff is.>And to answer the question you didn't ask, whom do I ship together?
My ships are kind of boring, X-cept for the gay ones that involve a lot of asspulling (like Bendis likes to do when he writes X-Books, so I guess Marvel should hire me). I ship Cypher and Warlock, everyone ships Gambit and Rogue, and I wish they would just give Beast a boyfriend since they never pair him with decent women for very long. Hey, Bendis made Bobby gay and it made no sense, at least with Hank it kind of does. Or they could be bisexuals, it's not like that's any less believable than beautiful people with super powers.
