>>121188849>That's STILL not how economics works. There is still this thing called supply and demand.
And in his analogy he is the entirety of the supply. It's kind of remarkable that you aren't understanding the very basic idea he's trying to present.
But hey, let's explore this concept of supply and demand. Say there's a shitload of people out of work, way more people than there are jobs.
That is to say, the DEMAND for a job vastly outstrips the SUPPLY for a job. This means an employer can pay as little as they want and still have a never-ending line of workers and applicants just begging to undercut each other to try to survive. And if there's no social safety net or minimum wage to put a floor on wages, you get a conga line of people being worked to death for pennies until they're too weak to continue.
You know, like in the great depression. Or that book you didn't read, the Grapes of Wrath.>>121188849>I believe that everyone less well off than me (someone with 20k to their name who doesn't understand how little that is and how easily that's destroyed) is stupid or a pussy
Seek therapy.>The reason people want a living wage is because they're lazy and stupid, they don't deserve a roof over their heads and food in their bellies for working 40 hours a work doing tasks essential to the continuance of society
This is not only an incredibly ignorant opinion (ignorant of basic economics and sociology), it is an unconscionable one bordering on sadism.
