>Batman creates a spy-satellite called "Brother Eye" to monitor Earth's superheroes, which is hijacked by his old flame Talia Al Ghul and corrupt businessman Maxwell Lord. They target Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter with nanotech-based weapons, forcing them to retreat to Superman's Fortress of Solitude in the Arctic, where Batman alerts them about the conspiracy. Wonder Woman develops a close bond with the Flash, Barry Allen.
>Barry and his nephew Wally West, also known as "Kid Flash", find out that Lord is the sole survivor of the OMAC Project, a secret government program that ilegally experimented on children with psychic abilities. Lord wants revenge on Earth's heroes for not protecting him and others like him.
>The heroes confront Lord at his base of operations in New York City. Lord mind-controls Superman into nearly killing Wonder Woman, forcing Batman to break his neck. Lord's mind then merges with Brother Eye and unleashes a nanovirus that turns Earth's population into a hivemind of OMAC soldiers controlled by him and capable to adapting to the heroes' powers to neutralize them.
>The heroes battle Lord's army. Barry taps into the Speed Force and transverses the world at the speed of light, removing the nanobots from every person on Earth and sacrificing himself in the process. Superman then destroys Brother Eye. The heroes decide to form the Justice League in Barry's honor and Wally adopts the mantle of the Flash to honor Barry's legacy.
