I think the main problem here is that all of the "big" WA reviewers like Enter, Strider, Valkisbaum, and even the more tolerable ones like Pan and Saberspark mainly focus on storylines and morals when it comes to reviews, which are generally the least interesting things when it comes to WA. Plus the endless amounts of worthless top tens and theory videos. There's the occasional unique vid like SaberSparks videos on the failings of an animation company, or Pans vid on the decline of 2D animation in theaters, but they're few and far between.
Contrast that with the bigwigs of anime reviewing like Gigguk, MB and DigiBrony, who in addition to discussing plot and characters, also discuss seasonal trends, the highs and lows of various directors, and even some dissection on what makes a good OP. Far more variety to go around.
I think Enter tried making a history of animation series at one point, but kept fucking up basic facts and then ultimately quit halfway through.
