Hulk is the guy who put ALL of his stats into brute strength. Nothing else. Yeah, some of his personalities are smart/evil/gay/whatever, those are secondary gimmicks. His main gimmick is that he's STRONG and ANGRY, and gets STRONGER when he gets ANGRIER.

Thor is the jack of all states. He's got some impressive physical strength, but he's also a bit of a mage with his ability to cast lightning. He's also got some intelligence stats, not much admittedly, but he has had to deal with a lot more strategic decision-making than Hulk. He's got your typical superspeed of a flying brick. He also can throw his hammer and have it conveniently come back to him to be a ranged fighter. He's also got all sorts of boosts with Odinforce and shit.

Thor is the paladin, Hulk is the fighter. It's insulting when you specialize in one thing, yet you can't even be better at this thing than someone else who multitasks. In fact, that someone else is pretty OP if he can do multiple things perfectly at once. Unless he's Superman, because he's Superman.

So I can see why people want Hulk to at least have the advantage in raw strength.

Correct, but Gender and sex are not the same thing. From what I've read the reassignment surgery is a drastic measure to fix a problem with people's perception of gender rather than the individuals perception of themselves.
I know the term 'feminine dick' is memed a lot, but there is some merit to it. If people were allowed to present their gender how they choose without having to resort to drastic surgery to conform, the reassignment would be unnecessary. At least that's how I understand it.

I like how the setting is just the grimmest apocalypse imaginable. In a regular zombie apocalypse I could see myself trying to make a go of it, see how long I last, find a bunker or a farm or something. In a Crossed apocalypse, I'm reaching for the nearest gun and blowing my head off immediately.
Some works like The Road are comparably grim, but 99% of the population turning into sadistic maniac rapists is just the cruelest.
90% of Crossed stories are just terrible, mind you, but the setting is fascinating to think about.

Characters who generally act like assholes but are "good on the inside" are bad role models. Sure, they aren't actually "bad people" but they normalize asshole-ish and neglectful behavior.
