Well, boys and gals... the ride is finally over. I too think the more rushed aspects tarnish the overall quality of the series finale, but that's life. More episodes MIGHT have fixed that... maybe.
Overall, still a fitting and satisfying ending. Past Aku not realizing that if Jack returned to the past he'd be back almost instantly made me laugh. And leaving Jack to his love-stricken, demon magic wielding daughter prooobably wasn't the best idea.
Aku wasn't a smart demon.
Wished they could have killed Future Aku, too. I wanted to see how Aku would have reacted to losing after all this time and the victory part. Also bummed we didn't get multiverse theory to see what became of the future and everyone Jack saved (who survived the final fight anyway). You can't help want closure with them.
This just left only the first few episodes and the final scenes of the last one as the only events that actually "existed"... fuck.
For Ashi in the past, the only thing I can possibly think of to explain how Ashi stuck around for as long as she did after Aku died was that maybe a part of him still clung to life inside of her that she controlled, or more likely, she just retained SOMETHING of him, his essence or something... like, she couldn't feel it, but that slowly died off too. I thought we were getting multiverse theory up till then, so... yeah. Bad writing is bad.
That final scene, however. Jack, despite it all, was finally okay, and the symbolism was godlike. It's no masterpiece ending, but I'm happy with it.
