>>130224971Did a quick look around about this and it seems the only info on why the delay was "Optimizing family audience"
Not quite sure what it means but there are other things to consider:
1. The original movie release date was Dec. 21 while Avatar 2 is going to be released on Dec. 9. While the two movies are to be released 12 days apart, I'm sure Illumination and Nintendo don't wish to compete against that movie, whether or not the movie will be good.
2. While we don't have the exact date, but the US Super Nintendo World is slated to open also in 2023. From a marketing standpoint, I can see it, "You have seen the movie, why not visit our theme park?" I mean, it won't work too well for the budget conscience but it might work for some.
3. Least reasoning, LoZ: BotW 2 is also releasing in that time frame. Not sure why this could work but maybe some Nintendo Direct would showcase both or something in some kind of "Nintendo Celebration" or something. (Heh, maybe Metroid Prime 4 would be released around that too.)
