This is the end of Sonic Unbound! We have two incomplete stories to wrap this whole thing up. We have a Knuckles comic and… a reboot? Let’s start with Exodus. Knuckles is a guardian-in-training and he’s about to find out that he’s not one of the last of his kind… and a lot of them are pretty bad!

It really sucks knowing Okida is probably never coming back to this because I really want to know where he would have gone with Unbound Reborn, or even just where the original story and Exodus left off. But it makes sense why he eventually stopped; it was probably TOO ambitious for his first major project.

Yeah it was great to see him do more than just a simple Sonic story and not even just one. He should've taken his time, worked on getting all the issues done instead of doing some as text only and one as audio only. But he got burned out, bored, and apparently there were some IRL things that kept him from being more consistent. At least he's doing better with Sonic the Continuation. Also, he seems to be aware of these threads and I see he has a discord server. Not that I'm saying someone should go there and ask him what his plans were for his ten year old project but that's always an option.

It hurts too kind of, because Fleetwayfags were fucking VICIOUS during the period where STC was storytime in their threads for their part of the Ride. They hated damn near everything about the comic because it wasn't an exact recreation of everything in Fleetway (and if they knew anything about Okida, they'd know he likes to pull every piece of media from the franchise when it comes to making a story) and constantly shat on it for every thread it had until it ended and a little while after. The fact that Okida was probably aware of that too as his comic actually getting some awareness here likely wasn't the best first impression.

Doesn't help that I in part bought into it, until I realized that it really wasn't as bad as they were making it out to be and that there's been far worse.

Those Fleetway threads were pretty sad. They didn't seem nearly as lively as the Archie threads and some anons were just so up their own ass for no reason. And infusing some Archie what-ifs were what made those Fleetway threads so much better. Sonic the Continuation wasn't perfect but it was entertaining. And yeah, you can tell Okida loved all things Sonic which is why he pooled everything into one comic. Changing up Sally's look and having her go from being a reporter to a Freedom Fighter was too much for some. And Okida's British, too. That must've felt like a betrayal to those angry anons.

It was especially bad when people said that Okida didn't "get" Fleetway Sonic or the Bri'ish characters despite being British himself and having likely grown up with the characters and setting. The only reason why he merges Sonic stuff like he does is because he loves the entirety of the franchise regardless of origin and likes seeing all these elements interact. And then there was that time they all get collectively pissed when Simpson, a literally irrelevant gag character who got totally written out of the narrative once all stories save the main Sonic storyline were dumpstered, was made actually relevant and connected to the plot via linking him to Ebony and the Tantaror. Not even mentioning how they reacted to Super Sonic being redeemed (something that probably would have happened anyway if Ebony had succeeded/the original comics wwnt on), Earth and Mobius fusing, or the endless screeching over Archie fans in the threads.

Looking back, I realize that for all I enjoyed them, the Fleetway threads were a mess. They were filled more with people obsessed with Fleetway than they were people who genuinely loved Sonic as a media franchise.

The worst was probably them bitching over Earth and Fleetway Mobius becoming one and Sally having her design changed since they claimed that it was Okida trying to "make Fleetway Archie". Despite the fact that y'know, Fleetway itself all but made Earth and Mobius the same near the end by having active natural portals on Mobius that easily linked between the two, enabling anyone (like say Amy or Tekno) to freely alter Earth's history.

They literally found the most asinine justifications to hate the shit out of everything Okida did. It was embarrassing and sad because the quality of the threads from then on irreversibly sank.

Ken quite literally does not care. He's living in his own delusional reality where he won at life and successfully "won" his court case, instead of failing at making anything to show for himself for well over a decade and counting and having his case basically tossed aside and forcing them to have to settle out of court. He doesn't even really own any of the Archie characters either, but he'll still claim that he does till his dying days.

Anons I need your help.

Im looking for a comic panel that someone posted a long time ago, in these ride threads I think, where Sally asked Sonic and the group what was the difference between her wearing only the vest, and wearing some lingerie she put on later.
It also had Vanilla showing up angry at how she was dressed, exclaiming how the daughter of a king shouldnt dress like a concubine.

Im not asking you guys to post it here, with the prude mods we got, but if you could at least post the archive link I would appreciate.

I know which comic you're talking about but I can't say which thread it was.
If desuarchive let you turn off posts with names (Conductor) it would probably be easier but your best bet is to plug in each thread, image posts only, and check from the bottom up to the last page of the comic before moving onto the next thread.
