Ahahaha this is so hilariously bad. The visuals are worse than most actual video games and its esports without the draw and actual tension of real world esports since its a scripted show. Its all made up games too which cuts out half the reason people watch esports. Its trying way too hard to pander to "gamers" as well.

Why are you so overly negative anyway? Yes, it doesn't look as good as those animated series on TV but calling it a "monstrosity" just seems like hating on it for the sake of hating on it.

You don't need experience to tell that the show looks horrible. Like just change the fucking shading. There are literal hundreds of tutorial on youtube that can teach you that. It has both government and corporate sponsors. Sure the budget might not be in the millions but I'm sure as hell it isn't just a few thousands. I've seen people do more with less. It doesn't need to look good as those animated TV series. It should look decent and CURRENT YEAR. So, me calling it a monstrosity is fully justified. With the amount of free resource you can find on the internet nowadays. A government and corporate backed show shouldn't look this bad.

Imagine if she wasn't, though; the ability to warp into the games as well as being able to compete with literal cyborgs would be quite interesting, storytelling-wise.

it opens up so many avenues for the story, as well as allows more of the audience to relate to the protag.

That's a plus. With a tad of creativity, you can have canonically possible sex encounter crossovers with game characters. Outside of that, it seems like it's merely for a better self-insert factor: "Oh boy! I wish I could also go into games! I'd go into Super Mario and talk about spaghetti and then I'd go into Overwatch and eat out Widowmaker's unshaven French asshole!"
