1) There's a big age difference between us, with him being much younger (though legal).
2) His friends and family didn't like/trust me, and that affects you more than it should when you're young.
3) He's from a small town and I think he was afraid of scandal.
4) We were long distance for a while, then got to be closer together. Lots of relationships don't survive the transition from long-distance to IRL.
So basically, he got scared and bolted. I'm not angry or bitter at him. I'm just sad that we couldn't go any further. I wish he'd change his mind, but I doubt he will.
