i have a mrsa infection in my knee that is draining but kind of slowly. i went to an urgent care center, i told them i thought it was mrsa since i got it twice already this year from my gym. they gave me 5 days of antibiotics (bactrum), didnt bother to run a culture. i asked them to drain it, but the PA said it needed antibiotics to drain properly. been on antibiotics 2 days now, the bump on my skin is fairly large, with the pus underneath about double the size. should i go to an ER or care center and ask them to drain it? or will they tell me it needs to drain naturally? will having someone numb it and drain it lower recovery time?
