Yes of course, but not all axioms are created equal, the beauty of science is that from relatively simple axioms you can derive very complicated theorems (also in the applied world) that would be completely absurd to accept blindly. The way OP phrased the post made it seem like he wants to just become an "electrician", a man who uses the tools of science as a handbook without thinking.
