I would dare to say that its a bad idea, since what you have to do in those situations is to subdivide the task you are doing and not your time.
For example, I'm going to study from chapter 2-4 and I'm not going to stop until I'm feeling confident enough to take a break.
Otherwise you might have to cut at like when you are 60% completion time and loose performarce as a result.
Of course you can adapt your contets to your pomodoro but then you are just doing what I say.
