What is constructivist math? Why is it alternatively hailed as the only valid kind of math or a total meme? Where do I start with constructivism? Is it true it rules out all transcendental numbers like pi?

It's good for CS and applications that otherwise require explicit constructions of their objects (hence the name), but applying it as a quasi-religious principle over all of mathematics is useless and something a ton of uneducated people seem to do. Math done assuming Choice or even some of its stronger variants such as $V=L$ (Constructibility) can be good to "explore" different possibilities -- if you think of the axioms as roads that lead us to other places, then all constructivists are concerned with is which places can we go while avoiding the toll imposed by certain roads.
