Why is every single male in Science/Math/Engineering ugly? Every single one is ugly and socially awkward.
A Beautiful Mind is ridiculous because John Nash was ugly and they use Russell Crowe to portray him.
Do people play to their aesthetic strengths so much that entire fields are filled with ugly people or beautiful people? If you're handsome, is STEM a waste of your time?

1) this is anecdotal
2) many active academics around the globe are fairly handsome / beautiful in my opinion
3) a lot of the “ugliness” is due to the unhygienic nature of many prospective undergraduates that STEM fields draw. You guys meme about reddit, but there’s no functional difference between stem slobs from reddit and those from 4chan: you’re both mostly underachievers who mask their frustrations by venting and making rote jokes, and out in the world, you’re mostly pretty awkward.
