I've been unemployed for a year and it fucking sucks. Way too many companies require a horribly long online application at their custom subdomain, sometimes more than one. They often ask to link an account from a standard site, but it doesn't transfer any data for some retarded reason, so you have to fill it out anyway.
I've been ghosted the majority of the time (not even robot replies), and I've had two feedbacks from the handful of interviews I had. 1) Look them in the eye more (I was the majority of the time, because I was talking about my experience). and 2) Wear a dress shirt. I was wearing a dress shirt to the interview, and that's the best they could come up with.
Referral agencies are goddamn cocksuckers who have no idea what they're doing.
>>10762681Fuck that shit man. I'm paired up with my state's unemployment services, and 2/3rds of the jobs they want me to apply to are manager/Engineer IV or some bullshit positions. Even the most "entry level" positions expect 2-5 years in some business-specific software.
I had a fucking good job too, but they couldn't pay salaries so I had to walk out. Company actually tried blaming me for leaving, and I told them if they hadn't paid what they owed immediately, I would've gotten the state involved (as I was supposed to). Now they won't even return my calls.
