>>10569832I know it's just because I don't have enough time. I know this because my Electrodynamics professor was nice enough to give the entire class up to 4 hours to finish the exam. Under this condition, I came on top of the class...I even got an award for highest grade it in.
The rest of the class was giving essential unlimited time to take the class...and still struggled on boundary value problems. Were I solved every problem on the test. The test was composed of 8 moderately difficult problems.
That's because most people just study hard before a test buy memorising formuals and problem solving steps. I, when given enough time, think through the problem and derives a solution to the problem.
For example:
> What is the electric field outside a sphere of charge Q?Most students:
Oh, I remember it's . Easy!
Me:
[only knows Maxwell's equations]
1. The first equation is;
.
2. So, I just have to emagine a sphere with surface area = 4?r^2 surrounding the chrage Q.
3. Write out equation of Gauss's law. Solve
4. Out pops .
