but outcast was way better in single-player. You played as Kyle Katarn, had none of the double bladed silliness, and actually had a decent story whereas academy had no story.
But the most important thing which made outcast amazing was that you didn't get your light-saber until 5th level or so.
So in higher difficulties you had to suffer and die a lot in the first levels with the retarded ranged combat until finally you become a jedi, get your saber and everything just dies.
Never felt a bigger feeling of satisfaction in any game.
