>>10396836Look kiddo (see I can do it too), how much do you actually know about this topic? Let me guess, you're a total expert, you know all the details in the same way a guy who knows all about all the different kinds of boulders is an expert geologist.
Here's the reality. Most GMOs presently on the market have a few traits in common.
-Altered mechanics around the shikimate pathway, leading to poor nutrient generation.
-Elevated endotoxin synthesis
-Lowered endogenous antioxidant and beneficial compound generation. You get rid of the weeds, kill off the fungus, and get rid of the pests, lo and behold, the plant has very little stress and doesn't bother to make the compounds it would otherwise create in response. These are otherwise the beneficial parts of the plant, the flavanoids, the terpenes, the lactones, etc. This is why plants can be full of carcinogens yet not carcinogenic. Surprise, plants are subject to the same natural laws as man!
-Full of glyphosate etc in the case of roundup ready crops.
Look, this has been studied repeatedly. GMO "food" is much lower in nutrients and much higher in endotoxins. That's just the way it is.
Ecologically it's equally harmful. You get killing off of pollinators, more and more of the herb/pesticide used, runoff, lack of crop rotation or complimentary crop cultivation, depleted soil, reliance on fertilizer.
You just want to feel tough, informed, grown up, hardened to the harsh realities and able to face the problems of this world with righteous realism. You're an obvious first worlder. Whatever stress you had, it made you weak, like a Pavlovian rat. Reassess, and come to the right(er) side.
