>>10289474there are many attractive intelligent people, but not all of them care to spend their effort on math and science. This is purely based on intuition and personal experience, but typically I’ve found that the physically attractive ones tend to use their intellectual advantages to excel in the social game. They’ll usually be at or near the top of whatever social group(s) they’re involved in, or they’ll use their enhanced mental capacity to thrive in their jobs/careers/hobbies, or pretty much anything they do. Intelligence is sharp, and it penetrates in any direction it is pointed. but what drives humans is usually more mundane or fatuous, less pure than the drive for knowledge/understanding.
Success in maths/sciences requires both intelligence and the motivation to sink hours and hours of effort into studying and learning. Perhaps uglier people are drawn to it because their looks push them away from the everyday struggle for dominance in the social hierarchy.
