Moses Schönfinkel was a Russian logician/mathematician, who basically developed combinatory logic independently from Haskell Curry, who later reinvented it. He suffered from mental diseases and died in poverty in a hospital while his neighbors used his papers for heating. I think he deserves some attention, as he developed important theoretical foundations for CS and math.
