I am in 11th grade and I am looking to go the science route. Apart from the textbooks of school curriculum, what are some essential books that I should read to deepen my understanding and knowledge of Maths and Physics? I am looking for books that may complement what I learn at school or books that every STEM student interested in Maths and Physics should have read before getting into University. I like to challenge myself but I don't see any point in doing highly advanced concepts when I have holes in relatively basic concepts. Anything within the understanding of a 12th grade graduate I can handle.
I need you guys to filter out the popsci books which don't actually teach anything and are slightly science fiction. As a start, should I read a Brief History of Time? It seems to be pretty 'essential'. Help a brainlet out /sci/.
