>>10137690>Nah when you dead you dead son.the awesome intellect of /sci/ on display
it could possibly be doable in the future
I mean, a "print" of your consciousness there and then is within grasp
but for it to be replicable as a certifiable YOU, then all parameters would have to be fulfilled in the say way as before the transfer of consciousness, as in an exact duplicate of the "container" from where th consciousness was taken
other than that, it would or could be a convincing copy, but, as due to things mentioned, their progress or further development, would be limited or in line with their new container
however, the "container", as I've called them, would not be any more or less impactful on the consciousness as two different sets of life experience, despite, or in spite, of container differentials
>>10137690>So, based on our current scientific understanding, is there any physically possible way someone's consciousness could be transported in another part of the universe or different realm of existence? No. Not unless some alien species with the technology at hand did it.
>>10137690>My friend died I'm having an existential crisis. I want to believe that I'll see him again in some sort of afterlife but when I think about it, it seems more likely that humans, being the only species cognizant of our mortality, created religion (which all have some form of afterlife/rebirth/spirt realm/etc) as a coping mechanism for the fear of death and knowing you'll never see your friends and loved ones again.Does it really take this much for a person to think about such things?
I lost my mother when young, so I've always thought about it. But I've asked people all my life, young and adult, and most have not thought about any existensial problems...ever.
