Watts Pedagogy

The watts online course has a lot of fantastic information in it, and from a standpoint of illustration it seems like a great place to develp your craft. The only issue I have and I wonder if others see it to, is the lack of visual accuracy in the life work. Now in illustration this is not really important but in say a portrait it seems that the atelier leaves behind accuracy in things like proportion, angles, etc. On would think that accuracy should come before speed, and there is a lack of careful measuring and checking is completely missing from the course. I mean when compared to a instructional by Jacob Collins who measures so carefully, watts wings it, but how does one do the watts school and develop accuracy?
