I have been making art for 10 years, professionally for 4, and I have never experienced the terror of the blank canvas.
This terror is reserved for people who have decided to make art, but have no reason to do so.
To begin a work of art, you should already have an idea, and the next step from there is to produce countless sketches in order to explore this idea.
You pick some of the best compositions and work them up in size and detail, and by the time you're ready to work on the final piece, you should have a pretty concrete plan as to how it's going to go.
The true terror is having endless creative ideation and no time or resources to produce the finished works.
