>>4085989Take my advice with a pinch of salt because I'm /beg/ but from what I've learnt in courses and some experience, most constructive systems (Loomis, Huston, Vilppu, Hampton) are made to teach you how to construct the head so you can draw from imagination. Imo Loomis is the hardest to work with because it's so vague.
Even watching people like Huston work, they rarely go for 100% accuracy and would rather mildly stylize their work to bring out features of their model.
If you're looking to accurately draw a portrait of a model, you can "draw what you see". Take measurements, make marks, etc.
As for your question on eyeballing it, no. Construction methods shouldn't involve much eyeballing. In fact, they're designed to remove that variable.
Finally, yes. You need to grind and figure out why what you're doing isn't matching your ref.
