Not watched the whole thing but it's what I thought and she's correct. That's cyan, not blue. RBY can't make every color and thus aren't the true primary colors. Artists are brainlets though and cry whenever anything scientific comes up.

Watched the rest, magenta isn't represented by a frequency of light but the overlap of distribution when there's an equal amount of blue and red light.

Note in this bar magenta doesn't exist like all the other colors. Magenta is formed by red and blue which is what she means when she says it doesn't have a wavelength.

I wonder why we still teach the R/G/Y system. It's not like red or green is easier to get paint for than cyan and magenta.

Do people really have an issue with understanding the difference between cyan and blue, and magenta and purple? Is this a culture thing?

Knowledge of the scientific and hyper technical aspects of color theory seems to have ZERO carry over to making aesthetic and pleasing color choices in art. Just look at the work of the hue value chroma guy. Ironically his use of color is bland and completely uninspired

no, magenta is not a monochromatic light. she says this in the video. it's not on the color spectrum, you only get it with equal amounts of red and blue light from the same wavelength.
