This does not happen in a vacuum.
Your imagination can only combine things it's familiar with.
The more variety of things you know about, the more variety of combinations your imagination, and the more creative you can be.
The trick is to pay attention and notice details. That's what gives your imagination good shit to work with.
So don't just learn drawing, because you'll only get good at drawing. Learn history, architecture, philosophy. Go for walks, and don't bury your face in a screen while you're doing it; pay attention to your surroundings and notice shit.
That's literally all there is to it.
