Construction means that all forms, (people, animals, nature etc) are made up of simple 3D shapes (spheres, cubes, etc)
Spheres, cubes, etc are the 'basic skeleton' of a drawing
Then you add detail to them.
Cartoons are simpler than realistic anatomical drawings.
If you want to learn to draw realistic people, you should still study Fun With A Pencil first before reading Loomis' other books.
You can improve OP if you practice drawing circles and figure 8.
Good circles make good spheres.
Your lines will improve, your confidence will improve and you'll have more elegant, better drawings.
