Also, use wrapping line, but only a few to show the perspective. By your 5000th gesture with the spine method, you'll have a general idea of flow by then and can start to branch out and do "contour like" gestures. Keep in mind, conventional methods like vilppu, proko, and hampton are only just training methods to get across a broad idea.
You don't have to draw like them BUT if you try really hard to understand what they're teaching you then you'll gain a greater understanding.

>>3239477 said...let me embellish on what he said. Yes, there are too much lines. Nothing is wrong with going over the same line multiple times, though. Going over the same line will build confidence and speed rather than stressing over getting a correct line the first time. Aim for line economy.
