>>99188636I want Lotor to be genuine about wanting peace and a stable Galra Empire, but with the latter being his primary goal. I want Lotor to warm up to the Paladins and vice-versa, to the point where he has a 'moment' with each of them, growing almost attached to them, only for things to go sideways in a spectacular manner.
Whatever it is, the Galra Empire cannot just out and out stop being an evil superpower, maybe quintessence cannot be safely extracted or utilized and the empire is hopelessly dependent on it, Lotor included. Whatever the reason, the stakes are the Galra Empire either continues its current policies or it collapses.
Lotor has to make a choice, and he chooses the empire, deluding himself into thinking he can make changes in the long term. The break with the Paladins would be painful as it is violent, with Lotor actually despondent or even shedding a tear as he flies away in his fleet.
It'd be cool if Lotor is neither plotting and scheming or going legit, and if his reasons for turning on them are logical and sensible. It would also set the groundwork for him becoming obsessed with either destroying Voltron or winning them over to his side, maybe even vacillating between the two.
There is some PRIME potential for a nuanced, grey as fuck character drama here, I just want them to not fuck this up!
Is that too much to ask?
