>>99118035yeah, except it was still always above all the others except for 2 moments when AT released bombs, and it barely eclipsed SU. but, the popularity during hiatuses has taken a big drop.
google shows SU's search interest peak to be the last week of the summer of steven. that was that show's "100 moment" that has yet to be eclipsed. ever since the show blew up with "jailbreak", the show has managed to stay at about a 20-30 during hiatus times, all the way up to last year. but after SDCC came and went, and we still didn't have a return date, it slowly started to go down, and down, reaching a low of 13 before the returned. but then the november bomb ended up getting a quick app release, and didn't really have any huge plot happenings besides lapis leaving, so that only shot the show back up to 20 before it swiftly dropped down again. 'stranded' also saw a jump up to 25, but since that didn't get followed up quickly, the show has dropped back down again. it's really sad that the SDCC trailers peaked higher than the actual episode releases; that at least got to 29. and right now, the show is at 12, just barely above the level of discussion it was getting before it blew up (which was 10).
right now, post-"jailbreak" SU is at peak levels of disinterest and pessimism. the show is getting criticized plenty, episodes aren't in sight most of the time, CN barely promotes it on the actual channel, and fans are dropping off because the erraticness of the premieres. i really hope these three "arcs" CN releases are all heavy hitters. the show NEEDS some momentum again, right now it feels like a ghost, a dead force just randomly jutting it's head back in every few months. these episodes need to DELIVER, visually, in terms of reveals/lore and plot happenings, and even in terms of fanservice a bit to get people interested again. and the hiatuses in between can't be as unbearably long and silent. the show needs momentum again, or it's gonna continue to drop more and more.
