>>98655299I've spent a lot of time combing through other people's obscure fetishes, probably more time than any functional adult should, and after a while I figured I should try and categorize them all by plain strangeness. It's a mostly subjective ranking, but with some amount of objectivity in that I consider fetishes stranger the less they have to do with overt sexuality. For instance, a fetish for blowjobs is high up on the scale, being directly related to a sex act. Inflation fetishism, having only tangential connections with sexuality, is low, low down.
At the bottom reaches of the scale I encounter what I call the "Deviantart Zone". This is the area that includes obsessions so strange that they are completely nonsexual from an outside perspective, and as such arguably do not fit on a list of fetishes. When I come across a user page on Deviantart that contains, exclusively, of MSPaint drawings of cartoon dragons who are wearing nothing except for exquisitely detailed Nike sneakers, I have found an entry that falls into the Deviantart Zone.
The thing about the Deviantart Zone is that it's unstable. The category is dependent on the ambiguity of the obsession, and me not knowing whether it's an actual fetish or just plain odd behavior. The moment somebody, artist or viewer, says "I fap to this", the DZ collapses and it becomes a regular, if strange, fetish. That's why I bother to read comments: so I can see if somebody's getting off to dragon sneakers even if the artist isn't.
