It’s implied that Death is Superman happened at some point, Scarecrow was retconned back from death, Dinah got saved by Dr. Fate, Doomsday bounced back from Superman smacking him down and Alfred got resurrected via Lazarus pit, but a lot of the characters that died in the last game stayed dead. Injustice Ollie is still dead, just got replaced with a doppelgänger. Lex and Billy are still dead. Hawkman, Hercules, Renee, Batwoman, Lois, Jimmy, most of the Suicide Squad and now Zod, all dead.
