Because despite being underused and underdeveloped, a mischievous slacker with apocalypse training is much more appealing then a stock rich bitch that keeps having to relearn lessons of humility or a self-centered sugar queen that gets away with everything and doesn't really change despite being one of the main characters of the show.

Because when you have the chill, laid back girl archetype, they almost always fall into the role of general love interest which is very hard to escape from. They don't necessarily deserve hatred, but there's little to keep you engaged.

Of course, she's better than a certain other example that /co/ seems to have a hate boner for right now...

She took advantage of Dipper's feelings she was always aware of to make him do favors for her. She also was a whore who dated numerous guys and didn't even bother breaking up with one of them who still thought they were together and proceeded to ignore him.
