>A series where the lead character has been disemboweled and his wife ripped apart on two separate occasions is being held up as the antithesis of "nobody dies for real?"Yes, dumbass.
It's an established quality to their alien race, which made most Earth "threats" mostly insignificant to him, but when fighting against another Viltrumite, would get very brutal.
Main characters die, and I think only two were brought back with a very specific and already established method, not LOL MULTIVERSE JK
Things actually happen. They happen, and they have lasting consequences throughout the comic.
Characters undergo both development, and change, for better or worse.
The things that happen to them, like Robot being stuck in an alternate dimension for a thousand years, or Mark going missing from Eve for years on end, have realistic effects on the characters, which can be seen in their growth and development.
None of that happens in big two smelly cunt bullshit.
I'd say Invincible is close to being the only tolerable capeshit around, because they went to tell a story, are telling a story, and their only "event" is literally all the events of the story coming to a final climax.
But have fun pretending to give a shit about a character who's just going to get retconned next week anyway.
