Ed really isn't that great. If it's your first time playing, I would absolutely recommend him, as he is as easy to control as just holding w and the attack button. But while that's adequate for someone new to the game, when you want to actually be good, you're going to have to switch your main sooner or later, preferably sooner before you waste any materials crafting his gear; all the Ed equipment is as expensive as it is shitty.
It's true that a lot of players actually come back to him, say there's some secret strategies to his simple design, but all that "muh deep gameplay mechanics" is usually just bugs that get patched after a couple months, only to be replaced by other bugs that Ed-cucks flock to as their new "strategy".
Johnny is the way to go. All the zany bullshit of Ed but none of the missing features or constant glitching.
