>>80785153Doubted, as in, my thought before I saw the movie was "it'll never be a thing because it's interspecies and they don't want to go there", while my thoughts now are more along the line of "it didn't become a thing because there's a lot more to this couple than what a happily ever after could offer". I'm pretty confident that there's quite a few people behind the scenes that like Nick and Judy as a couple, but didn't want to do a ending where they just end up together and it's happily ever after. Considering that this is a world where legit anti-fox products exist and are sold on the market, it would definitely be a cop-out, kinda lazy, and pretty predictable.
If there is a sequel, I'd love to see it as more of an action romcom, where the two of them are just starting out and starting to deal with the backlash of being in a interspecies couple. It would make a great conflict, and it definitely deserves more attention than this movie could've given.
>>80785351Assuming it wouldn't EXIST is pretty naive, but the Zooteam seems to have a lot of love for the universe, and would probably want to devote more attention to the implications of such a relationship (especially one between different families, sizes, and roles of animals). So that does make whatever other "couples" are in the movie being interspecies or not pretty irrellevant. Of course interspecies relationships exist, we don't need the creators to confirm that.
