Hey guys I made a 6 page comic and my publisher said they couldn't publish it and I don't know what to do with it.

Why couldn't they publish it? Is this a preview for a full comic? Can you just bring it to another publisher or the rights are stuck with the one you talked to?

1) The dudes I thought would publish it got booked up very quickly.
2) No, it's not. But with every short comic I write, I have a solid idea how to expand upon it.
3) I can bring it to another publisher but I don't know any other publisher with an anthology.

Seems all right but this isn't the start of the story is it? It starts too suddenly. Too in media res, like there really needs to be a bit more set up before the first page.

Only real complaint is that the 6 page format makes it seem like a bit of a rush job, though I imagine that wasn't really by choice. I guess you only had 6 pages to work with when the idea was to publish it?

Absolutely valid criticism, no need to sugar coat the way it came off to you.

Paying artists as a solo amateur writer is insanely expensive, so I tend to try to turn my big ideas into 1-10 page short comics. But I also believe if you can master the short comic, you can master comics writing.

TLDR: I set out to turn a 32 issue epic into 6 pages due to necessity/self-challenge.

Oh you submitted it to an anthology? Tons of those open up alot. I always see people doing some new anthology and asking for submissions in comic groups. Join the right groups on FB and you'll see them pop up often.

Yep I can relate to that. Even harder when it comes to aspect of advertising your stuff. Limited in what you can show or do.

This is certainly an interesting comic! Not exactly my cup of tea, but you could find an audience for this, perhaps.

Worst come to worst, you can just publish stuff online and hope for not-Patreon bucks... it'll still be a long tough road for you, but the exposure may help a bit?

Do you have an outside place to stick this onto?

Maybe you first need some reputation. Maybe by making a free b/w webcomic. The campain on Indiegogo will then be about the extended color version.
