The end of End Game could make sense, right?
With the rules of time travel being
1. Altering the past does not alter your future
2. Doing so creates a new reality/splits the timeline
3. You are able to jump back further into the past without the machine, just not into the future
So Cap just needs to
1. jump back, grabs more Pym particles like we see earlier in the film
2. Return all the infinity stones in such a way that he only needs to jump back and not forward
3. Jump back to live his life with Peggy, and finally
4. Live his life until any time after his original departure and jump back, and that's how he ends up on the bench.
Does this make sense?
