What's the appeal?

>no matter the era, no matter the spin-off, it's just wordy, daytime tv soap-opera with "muh razizm" in every other page
>all coming and going in cycles that repeat themselves after a few years
>the same beats, the same character pool, the same relationships, the same cheaters
Seriously, what is the appeal of this? The Claremont era is "wordswordswordswordswords" and even X-Factor isn't that different. I was told there were Sci-Fi stories, and I started reading in preparation for Hickman's run, but everything is so bad, and there's so much, that I'm not even sure if it's worth the trouble.
