I have yet to see a credible argument for this pointless hate on the movie.
Brie's critic comments are obviously taken out of context, a quick look at her dialogue will show that she says that it's pointless to have people who are not the target audience for something be the judge for that thing. You can't have, like people that really don't like heavy metal judge a metal album.
Apparently she made shitty comments in the past, but I can't find a single reference for this outside
>>106110656 poster. No articles, nothing at all. Whether this is real is suspicious. Even if it is, people change over time, and if James Gunn can be held to that so can Brie.
There's the argument that Captain Marvel's character just isn't that powerful, but some more recent stories and even older ones like the Brood Saga when she first becomes Binary say otherwise. Binary is hinted at the end of the trailer btw.
There's a lot said about Captain Marvel's character, and how people don't like what she became during Civil War 2. Iron Man 1 was released around a period of time when Tony in the comics was similarly badly written in an inconsistent manner to appear more fascistic ever since og Civil War happened. Yet in the movie he was written to be nothing similar at all, far more likeable. Same with Captain America who was a total douchebag until like AvX and until Death Of Spiderman in the ultimate universe.
There's some bullshit about how Captain Marvel will be some kind of macguffin that's going to ruin everyone else's character arcs, but that's assumptions. Not to mention that if these people are truly fans, they would know that's not how her powers work.
Oh and of course the 'anti-SJW' bullshit alt-right wave is happening in comics as well. People that never read Stan Lee's bits at the end of comic books or Hard Travelling Tales or Claremont's X-books or Morrison's Doom Patrol among others to see that it has always been part of the industry.
